Fling into Spring!

It's been trying VERY hard to become spring in Chicagoland. We've had a bit of sunshine here and there, but we could stand for a lot more, I know. Well, we'll do our best at Spoonfoolery to help usher it in. This month, we've got our after-school Easter celebration on April 17 from 3:30-5:30 pm , where you can come decorate cookies and cupcakes,

make some "egg-cellent" spring crafts, and play a few holiday games, like Pin the Cottontail on the Bunny! Hop on in with a friend or two and check it out. This is an open-house type of event, so come any time between 3:30 and 4:30 pm and allow at least an hour to participate in all the frolicking good fun!

We're also celebrating Mother Earth this month with a planet Earth cookie workshop on April 22 from 4-5:30 pm. We'll also learn about and sample different world cuisines and how to repurpose and recycle a lot of the everyday items in our kitchen that often end up in landfill. This is a scheduled class period, so please arrive on time by 4 pm so that your young one can enjoy the full experience!

And then there's MOM'S DAY! We've been getting a lot of requests for a parent-kiddo cooking class, and we think this may be the one! May 10, we'll be hosting a mom-and-me after-school cake decorating lesson, where the two of you can learn how to fill, frost, and decorate a cake. We'll make our own frosting from scratch and get the hang of using a pastry bag and various tips. Please ensure that children who attend this workshop have had experience with focused events for 2 hours or more. There's no better time than spring to break new cooking ground! Come learn something new and exciting with us this April!
